Advanced Hypnotherapy

Dublin and Northern Ireland

Gerry McLarnon

Gerry McLarnon is one of Ireland's leading independent consultants.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in Ireland & UK and life Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisors (IMCA), he has over thirty years experience in HR Management and Development. He is also one of the country's leading Advanced Hypnotherapists and Stress counselors.

Trained in the renowned Atkinson-Ball College of Hypnotherapy, he is a member of the Corporation of Advanced Hypnotherapy in the UK and a registered member of UKCHO; the British Complementary Medicine Association and of ISMA, the International Stress Management Association UK ,a body that represents Stress Management professionals in the UK and Ireland.

Over many years Gerry has built up a unique expertise and reputation for enabling organisations and individuals to take the steps needed to transform their performance and achieve their potential. Grounded in a deep understanding of the barriers to personal effectiveness, he has worked extensively as mentor and counselor to those seeking to make major life changes and find greater fulfillment and direction in their lives and careers.

He has worked successfully with a wide range of clients seeking help with problems such as extreme phobia, debilitating anxiety, habits they wish to break and the deep seated barriers and indecisiveness that impede their performance and block their pathway to greater fulfillment. In this regard Gerry works closely with GPs, dentists and other health specialists who have come to appreciate his unique expertise and approach.

Gerry complements his individual client practice with specialist programmes for organisations where there are needs for high level HR expertise. He provides tailor made programmes for individuals and groups on stress in the workplace, effective recruitment and creative approaches to career development. He has acted as facilitator and mentor to executives in leading companies, public service and government agencies in Ireland and overseas in the development of better strategies for organisational change and quality of working life.

Examples of the classes and workshops that Gerry offers include the following:

A 6 week adult education evening class commences on Monday 25th January 2010 in Castleknock Community College, Dublin 15. The title of the 6 week programme is Assertiveness Skills and Stress Management and over the period participants will be helped to get a handle on their assertiveness skills, gaining an insight into aggressive, submissive and assertive behaviour and obtaining an accurate picture of the one they operate from most of the time. They will learn how to become even more assertive than they are right now and to feel good about it.  They will discover the impact of irrational beliefs on every day thinking and behaviour and in overall terms they will learn how to reduce [if not eliminate] their stress levels in both their work and personal life.

As part of National Stress Awareness Day – NSAD that is organized each year in November in the UK and Ireland, Gerry presented a one hour workshop on Understanding and Managing Stress to a large group of lecturers and administration staff in the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.  This would be typical of “taster sessions” that Gerry offers on a voluntary basis to groups, organisations and other interested parties throughout the year.

All of his work is governed by strict codes of professional ethics and the highest standards of confidentiality.
